Bob Murdoch: Ae Fond Kiss
Bob Murdoch grew up in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania listening to Scottish music. His
father, Tom Murdoch, left Motherwell, Scotland in 1923 and, after settling in
Pittsburgh, became renowned as Pittsburgh's Scottish Tenor. When Tom passed
away in 1975 his son Bob, who was a tenor soloist in Pittsburgh area churches,
continued as Pittsburgh's Scottish Tenor.
At the urging of friends Bob sought to do a CD of well-known Scottish music.
Through the advice, help and production of the well-known international
entertainer, Carl Peterson and Carl's recording company, Darach Recordings,
this CD came to fuition.
The title of the CD bears the name of one of the best-known and well loved pieces
by Robert Burns. Since Bob is the National Chairman for Tartan Day in the United
States the title "the Tartan Tenor" was natural. There are 24 songs on the CD
which will be familiar to all persons who love Scottsh music. There are just as
many other songs in the same category which would be prime material for another
CD!
In addition to his national activities for Tartan Day, Bob has been a long time
member of Clan Donald. In 2000 he was elected a Fellow in the Society of
Antiquaries of Scotland and is a member of the Caledonian Foundation of USA,
Inc., the Robert Burns Scottish Club of Erie, PA, the St. Andrews Society of
Pittsburgh, the Scottish Heritage Society of North Central West Virginia and the
Scottish-American Military Society.

The DramBeauties: Crossroads
Beautiful harmonies and imaginative arrangements of classic Scottish and Celtic songs are the hallmarks of The DramBeauties. The "old sangs"...the ones that grandmothers taught their granddaughters about The Isle of Skye, Bonnie Prince Charlie and other interesting characters and legendary places are the songs The DramBeauties love to sing. They take these much loved and much sung songs and make them their own. Due in large part to the extensive choral background of each member, their voices blend together beautifully.

Alex Sutherland & his Cronies: Auld an' New
Alex Sutherland was born and raised in Edinburgh, Scotland. His first memory of Scottish folk music was as a wee laddie in his granny's parlour at Hogmanay, with her singing "My Ain Folk" and everyone joining in the chorus amidst floods of tears!
The folk scene of the 60's, and in particular the Corries folk duo, had a big influence on Alex, and he and a friend started folk-singing together. He moved to St. Louis, MO in 1989 and joined the Scottish St. Andrew Society where he continued singing Scottish folk songs.
Alex and his Cronies sing a mixture of historic, nostalgic and fun Scottish songs.
